Kevin DeVantier comes to SUNY Sullivan with 10 years of college basketball coaching and playing experience.
Prior to joining SUNY Sullivan, Coach DeVantier was the head men's basketball coach at Columbia-Greene Community College for three years. He took over the program prior to the year when Columbia-Greene went 0-30. Three years later Coach DeVantier’s team went 13-15 and had two All-Region players come through the program.
Before Columbia-Greene, Coach DeVantier was the assistant men's basketball coach at SUNY New Paltz from 2003 - 2006. In addition to his coaching duties, he served as head of recruiting and did individual development. He also worked as the college’s assistant intramural director as well as its assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Coach DeVantier earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland where he was a four-year member of the men's basketball team; a team which made it to the NCAA Division III national tournament "Sweet 16" in 2000 with a 24-5 record. During his tenure, he also served as a team captain and received a Red Letter award for leadership and playing ability.
Coach DeVantier graduated from Roscoe Central High School where he was a three-year varsity athlete in the football and basketball programs.
