Women's Basketball Coaches

 

Sara Thompson Tweedy
Coach Tweedy is in her fourth season as Head Coach of Women's Basketball at SUNY Sullivan. 

A former college basketball player at Hollins College (now University) in Roanoke, VA, Coach Tweedy became known for her three-point shot, breaking every school record pertaining to the three-pointer. In fact, she shot her way to the highest three-point shooting percentage in the NCAA Division III at the end of 1993.


In addition to her coaching and playing experience, Coach Tweedy is also SUNY Sullivan's Dean of Student Development Services, and previously served as a counselor and academic advisor in the college's Department of Learning and Student Development Services.


Dean/Coach Tweedy has a master's degree from Yale Divinity School in New Haven, CT and was awarded The Henry Hallam Tweedy Prize as the student with the most promise for excellence. She is an ordained United Methodist minister and served as pastor of The Federated Church of Kerhonkson for seven years before joining the college.

 
Ryan Meikle
The 2011-2012 season is Coach Meikle's first with the Lady Generals. He is also a Counselor and Academic Advisor in the Department of Learning and Student Development with SUNY Sullivan.

Coach Meikle earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University at Albany in 2008, where he also minored in Education. He went on to attend Sage Graduate School (Troy, NY), earning a Master's of Science in Counseling (`10).


Coach Meikle was the Assistant Golf Coach at Sage College of Albany for 2 years, has coached basketball and baseball coach at the high school level, and was the Assistant Golf Pro at Van Schaick Island C.C. (Cohoes, NY) during his time in graduate school.


Coach Meikle is a graduate of Minisink Valley High School (`04), where he was a two sport Varsity athlete in basketball and baseball.
