Recruiter


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: August 14, 2015

SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the position of Recruiter. The Recruiter attracts, engages and moves potential students to the action of applying for admission to SUNY Sullivan by helping to identify, develop and implement recruitment plans for specific target segments; representing SUNY Sullivan at recruitment events in specific geographic areas of the state of New York and neighboring states; and conducting assorted administrative duties related to the recruitment process.

This position requires significant travel, as well as work on several Saturdays and evenings throughout the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruit Specific Target Segments

  • Works with recruitment staff and other appropriate parties to identify untapped segments of the population that would benefit from participation in a SUNY Sullivan program
  • Works with marketing to develop recruitment plan(s) for the identified target segment(s)
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements in future plan activities at the end of a recruitment cycle.

Recruit in Specific Geographic Areas

  • Works with appropriate parties to identify specific geographic areas in which to undertake recruitment activities and implements the recruitment plan(s) for the geographic area (e.g., represent SUNY Sullivan at Recruitment Events such as college fairs, high school visits)
  • Works with guidance counselors in geographic areas to market college opportunities to high school juniors & seniors

Participate in On-Campus Recruitment Activities

  • Participates in on campus events for prospective students, their families and guidance counselors throughout the school year (e.g., registration day and evening events, and tele-marketing, tele-counseling, and phone and letter campaigns)
  • Conducts campus tours, interviews prospective students, and meets with families, schools and the public as a representative of SUNY Sullivan.
  • Addresses the needs of students, counselors and families "walking in" seeking information about SUNY Sullivan.

Conduct Assorted Administrative Duties

  • Maintains a working knowledge of evaluating transcripts and other criteria for purposes of accepting students into SUNY Sullivan, and assists with the review and screening of student applications, as needed.
  • Interacts with campus staff to keep up-to-date on all academic programs, degrees and activities.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field.
  • Valid NYS driver's license and ability to travel in an unrestricted manner.
  • Ability to interact well with people at all levels.
  • Ability to meet and interact with groups in a public speaking situation.
  • Proficiency in the latest version of Microsoft office software and internet search engines.
  • Experience with web-based recruitment technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in appropriate field.
  • Bilingual a plus.

PT Computer Lab Assistants


Part-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: July 29, 2015

Two Computer Lab Assistants are needed to maintain a work atmosphere conducive to academic work in the computer lab. Duties include assisting students, faculty, and staff in the operation of computer equipment in the classrooms and labs, answering questions, assisting with hardware and software support, assisting enrolled students in retrieving network account information and monitoring the software, hardware, and students. The schedule of one position is Sunday, noon to 6:00 p.m. beginning August 30th through December 13th. The second position is scheduled to work Monday through Thursday 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. beginning August 24th through December 14th.

Adjunct Faculty - Sociology


Part-Time Position

SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in the Health Sciences Division beginning late August 2015. The successful candidate must be able to assume responsibilities that include classroom and clinical teaching in all areas of Nursing.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Nursing (required) with clinical experience and a current New York State license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development, clinical and classroom teaching is preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $42,000 to $50,000, commensurate with faculty ranking. Qualified candidates may also be considered for the position of Nursing Program Director and Chair of the Division of Health Sciences, which entails an additional stipend and reduced load.

Executive Development Director, SUNY Sullivan Foundation


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: May 19, 2015

The Executive Development Director of the SUNY Sullivan Foundation performs complex, confidential fundraising, uses a database approach to building and managing donor lists, and leads the coordination of annual development campaigns. Independent judgment, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a high degree of confidentiality are required for this position. This Director needs to impart the community college story and mission in a way that inspires support. The position reports to the Foundation Board Chair and the SUNY Sullivan Vice President for Advancement, Partnerships, and Community Learning. The position also serves on the SUNY Sullivan President's Cabinet and leads major gifts and planned giving efforts with appropriate assistance from the SUNY Sullivan Vice President and President.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, business, or related field (Masters Degree preferred) and two years of experience in higher education or non-profit sector advancement (special events, fundraising, public relations, or development preferred). We will also consider Bachelor's Degrees in any field when coupled with a minimum of 5 years of foundation and development work on behalf of a college or a non-profit equivalent.

Excellent computer skills and a willingness to learn college interfaces, including Jenzabar and a variety of software packages including, but not limited to, MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, Quick Books, Publisher and Power Point. Knowledge of graphic programs encouraged.

Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to positively represent the SUNY Sullivan Foundation and College by interacting effectively with students, parents, staff, volunteers, faculty, alumni, administrators and community leaders from varying backgrounds.
