Coordinator of Web Development -


Full-Time Position

SUNY Sullivan is extending its search for the position of Coordinator of Web Development.

The Coordinator of Web Development is responsible for the design and maintenance of the college's web presence. This position supports the college's overall strategic recruitment and retention goals and branding efforts. This position has an emphasis on the design and graphics, development, organization, navigation, maintenance and tracking of the college's website as an effective integrated marketing communications and information tool.

  • Ensures the college's website provides accurate and timely information, is easy to navigate, has a professional look and feel, and meets web accessibility guidelines.
  • Writes and edits website content. Plans and executes visual and structural site redesigns, enhancements and updates.
  • Ensures that all areas of the website support the college's brand and identity standards.
  • In conjunction with the Vice President of Advancement, Partnerships and Community Learning (or his/her designee), maintains consistency with other marketing and public relations efforts including advertising, publications, collateral, etc.
  • Collaborates with various departments and divisions within the college to assist in the development of their presence on the website, ensuring a uniform image. Coordinates access privileges for departmental staff.
  • In conjunction with the Office of Institutional Technology, implements, communicates and oversees enforcement of campus web guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Serves as the single point of contact at the college on all web requests.
  • Increases visibility of the college's web content through external links, search engines and other placements as appropriate.
  • Designs and updates web banners that support campus events and announcements.
  • Maintains and updates weather-related and other time-sensitive notifications to the campus community. Updates, especially weather-related, may have to be done off-site during off-hours.


QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree in computer technology or website design with four or more years demonstrated experience as indicated above OR
  • Five or more years demonstrated industry/professional experience as indicated above;
  • Excellent organization, design, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • A collegial communication style that invites participation when appropriate with academic and other departments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in website design or computer technology or related field with a minimum of three year's demonstrated experience in website design, programming and content management, e.g., web design, graphic arts software, database creation and management, HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Word Press, Drupal.

Adjunct Faculty - Pastry Arts

FT Temporary Instructional Assistant - Teaching & Learning Technology


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: October 14, 2014

Reporting to the Director of Instructional Design and Online Learning in the Teaching and Technology Center, the Instructional Assistant promotes the use of technology in teaching and learning by consulting with and providing support to faculty in the use of instructional technology and related materials for the classroom and distributed learning environments. This position is classified as academic support and the incumbent is a member of the Professional Staff Association (PSA). Some weekend and evening hours may be necessary.

This is as long-term temporary appointment concluding on 8/31/2015. Continuation of this position beyond the 2014-2015 academic year is subject to budgetary approval for the upcoming 2015-2016 academic year. QUALIFICATIONS

SUNY Sullivan is seeking candidates to fill an adjunct position, teaching ASL, in the Division of Liberal Arts and Humanities. Applicants should show an ability guide students through the language and culture of persons in the Deaf Community, by teaching a basic competence in the structural elements of American Sign Language, including non-verbal communication techniques, grammar principles, basic vocabulary, and conversational skills. Instructors will show students the role of American Sign Language within the context of the culture of the Deaf community.

Full-Time Position

The Coordinator of Student Activities works with departments, students and staff to develop services, clubs, entertainment and programs that enhance student life for individuals or campus groups. This position requires evening and weekend hours to plan and conduct programs, services and events. This position reports to the Director of Student Activities.

  • Monitor use of the Student Union and the Student Leadership Center assuring students a place to informally socialize, relax and develop their leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervise undergraduate student activities and other staff assigned to the Student Union in the conduct of organized programs.
  • Work with and empower student and staff committees as appropriate, to plan and present major entertainment and developmental programs for students.
  • Lead the development of leadership and mediation skills in students by conducting weekend and evening programs and workshops and selecting students to staff a student mediation program.
  • Recruit and support faculty and staff who serve as club advisors and students who accept leadership responsibilities.
  • Submit information for weekly publication of the campus newsletter, The Projector.
  • Perform office services as needed such as the campus ID card system, student bus passes, parking permits, the Voter Registration program and cap and gown orders.
  • Develop a roster of off campus housing opportunities and assist students with housing when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, in a field which relates to the area of student affairs.
  • Two years of experience developing and implementing entertainment, personal development and/or recreational programs, preferably in a College setting. Residence Life experience welcomed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as necessary for working with students with varying backgrounds and diverse student groups. Must communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, alumni, administrators and parents.
  • Ability to inspire achievement and leadership among students and staff.

Successful candidates must have familiarity and expertise within a range of topics, which may include:


Position (1) - Control devices, signals, logic, and applications for various systems, such as electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, security, access control, voice-data-video, and elevator systems;


Position (2) - Reading commercial building plans and specifications, computing electrical loads, branch circuits and components, and electronic service equipment. Electrical considerations specific to renewable energy systems;


Position (3) - Ecological design, energy efficiency, passive and renewable energy, water conservation and treatment, sustainable site selection, green building materials, indoor and outdoor environmental quality, and building assessment tools.

Master's degree in Sustainability, Green Technology or Renewable Energy or career/professional equivalent.

Executive Director, SUNY Sullivan Foundation


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: June 23, 2014

The Executive Director of the SUNY Sullivan Foundation performs complex, confidential fundraising, uses a database approach to building and managing donor lists, and executes Foundation fundraising campaigns. Independent judgment, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a high degree of confidentiality are required for this position. The position reports to the Foundation Board Chair and the SUNY Sullivan Vice President for Advancement, Partnerships, and Community Learning. The position also serves on the SUNY Sullivan President's Cabinet and leads major gifts and planned giving efforts with appropriate assistance from the SUNY Sullivan Vice President and President.

  • Plans and executes the major fund development for the SUNY Sullivan Foundation.
  • Implements the Foundation's Planned Giving program.
  • Secures sponsorships and advertising revenue for fundraising events for the SUNY Sullivan Foundation including annual Gala, Golf Tournament, etc.
  • Implements the SUNY Sullivan Foundation scholarship program.
  • When warranted, coordinates with the liaison to the Alumni Association to meet the goal of increasing the amount of alumni donations in conjunction with larger campaigns.
  • Coordinates the annual meeting of the Foundation.
  • Assists the Office of Institutional Research with the entering and exporting of confidential data involving enrollment, demographics, and course reviews, etc.
  • Participates in and provides reports at the bi-weekly meetings of the President's Cabinet.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as might be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, business, or related field (Masters Degree preferred) and two years of experience in higher education or non-profit sector advancement (special events, fundraising, public relations, or development preferred). We will also consider Bachelor's Degrees in any field when coupled with a minimum of 5 years of foundation and development work on behalf of a college or university.
  • Excellent computer skills including Jenzabar and a variety of software packages including, but not limited to, MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, Quick Books, Publisher and Power Point. Knowledge of graphic programs encouraged.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to positively represent the SUNY Sullivan Foundation and College by interacting effectively with students, parents, staff, volunteers, faculty, alumni, administrators and community leaders from varying backgrounds.
