Division Secretary - Health Sciences


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: May 22, 2015

Sullivan County Community College is seeking to fill the position of Division Secretary in the Health Sciences division. The Division Secretary provides administrative support to the Health Sciences Division, facilitating communication and processing documentation for Division administration, faculty and students, and supporting program evaluation and development in the Nursing, Respiratory Care, Medical Assistant, and Emergency Medical Technician programs.

This position is classified as non-competitive Civil Service and the incumbent will be a member of the Teamsters unit, with a starting salary is $38,105.19.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (i.e., Associate's Degree and two (2) years of secretarial or clerical experience or graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of secretarial experience, two (2) years of which was obtained in an institution of higher education; or an equivalent combination of training and experience as described above.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.

Executive Development Director, SUNY Sullivan Foundation


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: May 19, 2015

The Executive Development Director of the SUNY Sullivan Foundation performs complex, confidential fundraising, uses a database approach to building and managing donor lists, and leads the coordination of annual development campaigns. Independent judgment, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a high degree of confidentiality are required for this position. This Director needs to impart the community college story and mission in a way that inspires support. The position reports to the Foundation Board Chair and the SUNY Sullivan Vice President for Advancement, Partnerships, and Community Learning. The position also serves on the SUNY Sullivan President's Cabinet and leads major gifts and planned giving efforts with appropriate assistance from the SUNY Sullivan Vice President and President.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in communications, public relations, business, or related field (Masters Degree preferred) and two years of experience in higher education or non-profit sector advancement (special events, fundraising, public relations, or development preferred). We will also consider Bachelor's Degrees in any field when coupled with a minimum of 5 years of foundation and development work on behalf of a college or a non-profit equivalent.

Excellent computer skills and a willingness to learn college interfaces, including Jenzabar and a variety of software packages including, but not limited to, MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, Quick Books, Publisher and Power Point. Knowledge of graphic programs encouraged.

Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Faculty - Culinary and Pastry Arts


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: March 30, 2015

SUNY Sullivan is seeking full-time Farm-to-Table Chef/Culinary Arts Instructor for a tenure-track appointment beginning fall 2015. Applicants should have knowledge of the whole food lifecycle from farm to table, sustainable food production systems, value-added food production, safe and sanitary commercial kitchen procedures, and experience in both Culinary and Pastry Arts.

The ideal candidate will be a culinary expert committed to both the art of cooking and innovative teaching grounded in sustainable food practices. Her/his insights on integrating locally grown and produced food into private, institutional, and professional menus so as to offer creative, nutritious and healthful eating options will inspire students and the community to make thoughtful connections between farm production, food processing, artisanal products and cuisine.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction in all levels of courses within the Professional Chef AAS, Culinary Arts AOS and Pastry Arts AOS programs, and will also be responsible for teaching many of the culinary components of a proposed new Nourishment Arts AOS program.

Salary will vary dependent upon rank. The hiring range for this position is $35,000 to $45,000.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of five years of culinary industry experience and a culinary-arts related Associate's degree
  • Previous experience in a teaching/training environment
  • Familiarity with local and seasonal sourcing practices and Farm-to-Table cuisine

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - SCIENCE LAB


Full-Time Position

RESPONSIBILITIESPOSTED: March 26, 2015

SUNY Sullivan is seeking to fill the position of Instructional Assistant - Science Lab for a Fall 2015 appointment. The Instructional Assistant assists the Instructional Faculty by implementing the Educational program of the faculty. This will require that the IA maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in the implementation of the program to insure the maximum effectiveness of the laboratory. Some evening hours are required.

  • Responsible for prepping, setting up, teaching, breaking down, and cleaning up all the Introduction to Biology I Lab and Introduction to Biology II Lab sections.
  • Responsible for all student lab records including attendance.
  • Responsible for administrating and grading laboratory assessments.
  • Responsible for creating course outlines for all SCI 1051 and SCI 2051 sections.
  • Responsible for determining lab grades for all students and submitting them to corresponding lecture instructors for midterm and final grades.
  • Expected to prepare for each lab and have a thorough knowledge of concepts included in each lab. Background and supplementary reading should be done on each topic, so that assistance to students will be available as needed. This is a primary responsibility.

The hiring range for this position is $34,372 to $41,693.
