
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Coordinator of Fieldhouse Operations and Equipment is responsible for following purchasing practices and inventory management and control of all equipment and apparel in possession of the SCCC Department of Athletics. Additionally, this Coordinator shall assist other athletic department personnel in the management of all inter-collegiate and intramural activities sponsored by the athletic department staff. This position also shares building supervisory duties on a regular basis with other assigned department staff. The work hours for this position include three evenings per week and one weekend day for normal operations. The work schedule of this position is subject to change due to special events scheduled by the Department of Athletics. The Coordinator is also required to work all scheduled hours of athletic and special events activity, unless otherwise advised by the Director of Athletics.
A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Business, or Sport Management or similar field of study with a minimum of two years experience in athletic facilities and equipment management is required. The incumbent must be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds (required) and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, athletes, staff, faculty, alumni, administrators and parents as well as inspire achievement and leadership among students, athletes and staff.
Reporting to the Director of Student Activities, the Coordinator of Student Activities works with departments, students and staff to develop services, clubs, entertainment and programs that enhance student life for individuals or campus groups. The position requires evening and weekend hours to plan and conduct programs, services and events. The position reports to the Director of Student Activities. Some specific duties include, but are not limited to: monitoring the use of the Student Union and the Student Leadership Center; participate in planning and presenting major entertainment and developmental programs for students; recruit and support faculty and staff who serve as club advisors and students who accept leadership responsibilities, co-edit and publish the SCCC Student Handbook and the weekly publication of the campus newsletter and perform office services as needed such as the campus ID card system, student bus passes, parking permits, the Voter Registration program, cap and gown orders and assist students with housing when appropriate.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, in a field which relates to the area of student affairs with three years of experience developing and implementing entertainment, personal development and/or recreational programs, preferably in a College setting. Residence Life experience welcomed. The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills as necessary for working with students with varying backgrounds and diverse student groups and must communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, alumni, administrators and parents as well as the ability to inspire achievement and leadership among students and staff.
