Tutoring

Tutorial services are provided by the college, free of charge, through the department of learning and student development. A staff of approximately 20 professionals and peer tutors offer academic assistance to individuals and groups in subject areas including English, math, computers, social services, natural sciences and career/technical courses of study among others. These services are offered Monday - Friday from September - May. Some evening hours are available and appointments are encouraged.

The department also offers several free workshops throughout each semester to help students with their academic study skills. Topics include enhanced study, reading and college-level writing skills.

Spring 2013 Tutors Schedule

Writers Lounge

Located in room C105, the writers lounge is a quiet and comfortable place where students can work on writing projects of all kinds, study literature, use a computer or just relax for a while. Those who would like help with preparing essays and research papers or creative writing projects can work one-on-one with a writing instructor anytime the lounge is open. Resources include an extensive writing reference library, online access and a large collection of current poetry and creative writing journals. The lounge is open Monday - Thursday from September - May. Hours vary.
