BBC News: Country Profiles. Provides concise information on countries, territories and selected international organizations.

CountryWatch. An online subscription database providing the latest information about countries around the world.

Global Issues in Context. A database published by Gale Cengage that includes a browsable list of current topics on global issues providing full text from a variety of sources including news, reference books, magazines, journals and more. Geographic regions also can be browsed.

InfoNation. Contains geographical, economic, demographic and social indicators data for all 185 UN member countries. Convenient and easily navigable.

LexisNexis Academic . A reference service that lets you search the news, from 1980 to today, look for U.S. and state legal cases, get company information, research countries of the world, and also find biographical information on public figures. All full-text sources with an "easy search" or "power search" interface.

Library of Congress Country Studies. A continuing series of books prepared by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress. This online series presently contains studies of 85 countries. The Hermann Memorial Library has many of these titles in paper format in the reference collection.

Nations of the World: (Nations and Associated Jurisdictions). From the Law Library of Congress, this site has links to legislative and legal branches of governments of the world.

World Factbook. A collection of country profiles compiled by the Central Intelligence Agency. Includes maps and a formatted profile of the geography, demographics, vital statistics, economic indicators, etc. but no country histories.

Worldmark Encyclopedia of the Nations. Published by Gale Cengage, this online encyclopedia has histories and essential facts about countries of the world.
