Alt HealthWatch (EBSCO). In addition to providing full-text articles for more than 180 international journals and reports, this database provides access to hundreds of pamphlets, booklets, and book excerpts covering complementary, holistic, and integrated approaches to health care and wellness. Provided via SUNYConnect.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This government agency website brings together information and links on health and disease in the U.S.

Doctor's Guide. This is a good commercial site sponsored by pharmaceutical companies and aimed at medical practitioners and consumers. Medical information, medical news, and lots of links to medical resources.

Health Reference Center Academic (Gale/Cengage). This multi-source database provides access to the full text of nursing and allied health journals, plus a wide variety of personal health information sources.  Provided by NOVEL.

Health Source: Consumer Edition (EBSCO). Database providing access to nearly 80 full-text consumer health magazines and many other related resources. Provided via SUNYConnect.

Healthfinder. A government gateway to consumer health information.

MEDLINE (FirstSearch). A comprehensive index of citations from thousands of biomedical journals created originally by the National Library of Medicine.

MEDLINE with Full Text (EBSCO). The world's most comprehensive source of full-text medical journals, this database provides full text for more than 1,450 journals indexed in MEDLINE.

MEDLINEplus. A directory of medical and health resources put out by the National Library of Medicine.

Merck Manuals Online Medical Library. This site offers the online version of the latest edition of the well-known diagnostic handbook and other full-text Merck publications. Fully searchable and browsable.

Morbidity & Mortality Weekly Report. Published by the Centers for Disease Control, this report gives statistics of mortality from disease in the U.S.

National Center for Health Statistics. Hosted by the Centers for Disease Control, this site provides statistical information on national health issues.

New England Journal of Medicine. Full-text access to this journal provided by SUNYConnect.

Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Collection (Gale/Cengage). This predominantly full-text collection includes over 60 titles in the fields of physical therapy and sports medicine. Topics include proven treatment techniques, experimental research, and more.

PubMed Central. The U.S. National Institutes of Health's free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.
