
Loch Sheldrake, NY: (July 5, 2010) — In response to the current economy and high unemployment rates, SUNY Sullivan (Sullivan County Community College) and Sullivan Works are co-hosting an information session on Monday, July 12 about training the college offers for careers in the growing fields of medical transcription and medical coding and billing. The training is in conjunction with Career Step, a leading online healthcare education company.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the medical transcription field will experience 11 percent employment growth between 2008 and 2018 and that the medical coding and billing field will experience 20 percent employment growth during the same time period. The programs offered at SUNY Sullivan provide an opportunity for students to quickly gain the education they need to qualify for these jobs.
The 2 p.m. information session will take place at the Sullivan Works One Stop Career Center at 50 North Street in Monticello. Pre-registration is requested.
