
Loch Sheldrake (February 14, 2011) – SUNY Sullivan is both pleased and excited to extend an invitation to area women of all ages to the 15th Annual Women’s Conference, Saturday, March 26 at our beautiful Sullivan County campus. Gina Barreca, a well known author and humorist will be the keynote speaker.
“”How I Stopped Worrying About Visible Panty Lines and Conquered the World,” aka “The Women’s Conference” will offer participants a chance to choose two workshop sessions from a list of 14 “one-more-exciting-than-the next” workshops that include Cooking in Rio; Alive, Well and Sexy at Any Age; Scents and Sensibility; Finger Food Fun and Entertaining; Goddess in Training: Where Fluff Meets Tuff; and Zumba.
The $25 Women’s Conference fee includes a continental breakfast, two workshops, lunch, a gift bag and a raffle. The conference begins at 8:15 a.m. and will conclude with the raffle at 3:30 p.m.
Keynote speaker, Gina Barreca, Ph.D., is a professor of English literature and feminist theory at the University of Connecticut. A columnist for the Hartford Courant, Dr. Barreca is the author of “It’s Not that I’m Bitter, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying About Visible Panty Lines and Conquered the World.”
