
LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. (April 20, 2011) – SUNY Sullivan introduces two new courses to its complete catalog of classes available during its four Summer Sessions – Building Automation & Controls as well as Solar & Wind Systems. Both are 3-Credit courses and are available at May 2011 through August 2011.
Building Automation & Controls will meet online and is lead by Instructor Helena Leroux. Students will learn the basic principles of energy management and various energy management systems using real-world computer control. This will include standard control ideas such as PID feedback, computer interfacing, embedded control, PLC usage, and networking. This course will be offered in both Summer Session I (May 31, 2011 – July 7, 2011), and Summer Session II (July 12, 2011 – August 18, 2011).
Solar & Wind Systems – also an online course – will be lead by Instructor Steven Porter. Students will learn the basic principles of photovoltaic and wind generated power, and how to apply these principles to the maintenance and management of a commercial building. This course will be offered in Summer Session I (May 31, 2011 – July 21, 2011).
