LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY (May 13, 2011) – When was the last time you had the time of your life…enjoying yourself to the fullest…but also playing an important part in helping students further their education at SUNY Sullivan? The 25th Anniversary Sullivan County Community College Foundation Scholarship Gala will take place Saturday, June 4 at 4 p.m. It will be held at the Clubhouse of the Monticello Motor Club, one of the most exclusive motorsports clubs in the United States.
Above, Sandra Gerry (c), Chair of the 2011 Sullivan County Community College Foundation Gala, consults with John of the Monticello Motor Club, the location for this year’s gala, to make sure everything is on target and on schedule for the June 4th event. Sandra is flanked by gala committee members Myrna Rey and Tom Ambrosino.
“The Monticello Motor Club is the ideal setting for a cocktail reception in the grand style of Monaco,” said co-chair, Sandra Gerry. Guests will have the extraordinary opportunity to experience a “lap of luxury” on a 4.1 mile track designed by prominent track architect Bruce Hawkins and race legend Brian Redman. For a fee guests will have the thrill of taking a lap around the track with a professional driver. Participants can choose either a hot lap, at a racecar speed, or a warm lap for those who feel less of a need for speed. Guests will also be able to choose the model of car for their lap from a Cadillac CTS-V, a Mazda Miata, a Ferrari 360 Stradale, to a Ford GT. Lap prices are based on model selected.
There will be an opportunity to enter the College’s Silver Anniversary Car Raffle to win a 2-year lease on a 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe or $7,500 cash, as well as several other fabulous prizes. For those who want to try their luck, there will be gaming tables of Roulette and Black Jack. As always, the silent auction promises to have some great items for guests to bid on.
“The SCCC Foundation has secured more than one million dollars in scholarship funding over the last several years making it possible for hundreds of students to realize their dream of a college education, said Co-Chair Steve Wilkinson. “Our scholarship recipients have made an impact locally, regionally and beyond as educators, health care professionals, entrepreneurs, chefs, technicians, engineers, public servants…and more.”
In addition, the Foundation would like to recognize the following SCCC Foundation Gala committee members: Julie Allen, Pat Allison, Tom Ambrosino, Linda Berkowicz, Kathy Davidoff, Bob Diema, Adrianne Dollard, Hillary Egeland, Eileen Ernst, Judy Green, Chris Grillo, Siobhan Heimowitz, Judie Hellman, Shirley Hornbeck, Nancy Kane, Cindy Kashan, Rachel Keebler, Ellen Levine, Helena Manzione, Beverly Paige, Myrna Rey, Nathana Rosen, Rosemary Skoda, Kim Torrens, Cathy Suehnholz, and SueAnne Dropkin.
