LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. (June 8, 2011) – The Sullivan County Community College Foundation held its 25th Annual Gala Cocktail Party on June 4, and the event was a huge success. 230 people attended, including Gala Chairpersons, Sandra Gerry and Steven Wilkinson. The event took place from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the prestigious Monticello Motor Club.
Festivities included a four-hour cocktail reception. Catering was provided by the Eagle’s Nest, whose staff provided butler service hors d'oeuvres, champagne and a full top shelf open bar throughout the night. A stunning array of decadent desserts was prepared by Chef Mark Sanok and students from the SUNY Sullivan Culinary Arts program.
An area of casino-style gaming tables was decorated by crystal chandeliers, and guests were invited to try their luck – for charity of course – at roulette and black jack. The gala’s Riviera theme was set off by a gorgeous backdrop of Monaco’s Grimaldi Palace, provided by Cobalt Studios of White Lake. The band, Character Zoo, performed live music.
The Gala raised additional funds with a successful silent auction of high end items and travel packages, as well as raffle prizes, including a raffle for the winner’s choice of a 2-year lease on a new Cadillac CTS, or $7500.00 cash!
And speaking of cars, Gala attendees also donated money for their chances to hit the track for high speed rides in some of the Motor Clubs most luxurious vehicles – Ferraris, Miatas, Cadillacs, and Ford GTs among them.
100% of proceeds from the evening went directly to the SCCC Foundation Scholarship Fund, which benefits students.
The Sullivan County Community College Foundation provides $100,000.00 in student scholarships each year.
