SUNY Sullivan Welcomes Renowned Celtic Rockers Finn’s Fury to its 2011 Summer Performance Series in the Seelig Theatre

Loch Sheldrake, NY (July 21, 2011) – The Summer of Fun at SUNY Sullivan continues inside the Seelig Theatre – your destination for family-friendly performances right here in Sullivan County all season long!

Visit the campus of SUNY Sullivan on THURSDAY, JULY 28ST at 8:00 PM, for an evening of music with FINN’S FURY. They’re a New York Celtic rock group that performs blues, punk and lyrical vocals to create what they call “Urban Celtic Fusion Rock”. The band cranks out instrumental jams that come at you with a raw edge of unpredictability that has become their trademark. Finn’s Fury has brought its high energy brand of foot-stomping Irish rock to audiences all over, and now they’re coming to Sullivan County along with their brigade of pipers and step dancers!

And joining Finn’s Fury will be the acclaimed Irish step dancers of the Petri School of Irish Dancing! Founded in 1991 by Karen and Lisa Petri, the Petri School has become one of the preeminent Irish Dance schools in the world. The school has over 140 dancers aged 4 to 21. Dancers from the school have performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the Joyce Theater, the Tilles Center, and the New Victory Theater, as well as on the Maury Show, CBS-The Early Show, The WB-11, NBC News, ABC News, Fox News, and Sesame Street. Every year, the school is invited to perform at the NY Governor's Breakfast at the Waldorf Astoria to kick off the New York City St. Patrick's Day parade.

And the great performances continue all summer long. On THURSDAY, AUGUST 4 at 8:00 PM, come out and feel the rhythms of the STREET BEATS GROUP.

THE ACROBATS OF CIRQUE-TACULAR will be on campus THURSDAY, AUGUST 11 at 7:00 PM. The season wraps up on THURSDAY, AUGUST 25 at 7:00 PM with an evening of RAG, BLUES & ALL THAT JAZZ performed by master pianist PETER MUIR.
