Loch Sheldrake, NY (September 21, 2011) – SUNY Sullivan will be hosting sixty students from Monticello and Pine Bush High Schools for a luncheon and seminar on October 12, 2011. The program is being held as part of the college's involvement with local the high schools' Academy of Finance program.
The Academy of Finance program provides local high school students with the opportunity to take college level business and economics courses, and earn college credits, while in high school. The program not only allows high school students to experience college level courses, but prepares them with real world skills and knowledge they will be able to apply not only in college and beyond.
Along with benefitting the students headed to campus in October, SUNY Sullivan hopes this event will make other area high schools aware of the program, as well as members of the regional business community who may be interested to know that such progressive training is available to our future leaders of commerce.
The Dining Etiquette Seminar & Luncheon event will begin with a guided tour of the SUNY Sullivan campus, and culminate in the educational portion of the day – which will be held in the college's Paul Grossinger Dining Room.
