
LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY (October 17, 2011) – On Saturday, October 29 at 12:55 pm, SUNY Sullivan will present an HD simulcast of Mozart's, Don Giovanni, as it is performed live at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York's Lincoln Center. The broadcast – part of the college's The Met: Live In HD Series – is open to the public, and will be shown in the school's Seelig Theater. Tickets are $20.00 each for general admission, and $10.00 each for students.
Mariusz Kwiecien brings his youthful and sensual interpretation of Mozart's timeless anti-hero to the Met for the first time, under the direction of Tony Award®-winning director Michael Grandage and with Fabio Luisi conducting. Also starring Marina Rebeka, Barbara Frittoli, Ramón Vargas, and Luca Pisaroni.
The simulcast will be preceded by a one-hour discussion. Please arrive early to take part in this informative pre-show presentation. Light refreshments will be available during intermission in the DeHoyos Gallery, adjacent to the theater.
