2011 REGION XV CHAMPION SUNY SULLIVAN GENERALS TO HOST
WINTER BASEBALL CLINIC IN FEBRUARY
SUNY Sullivan has opened registration for its upcoming Winter Baseball Clinic on Saturday, February 25. The event, designed to help players enhance their skills in time for spring tryouts and the start of the new baseball season, will be held at the college’s Loch Sheldrake campus, inside the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.
The Winter Baseball Clinic is formatted as an all-day, ONE TIME SESSION beginning at 9:00 am and continuing until 3:00 pm. During the event, players ages 7-12 and 13-15 will receive expert instruction from SUNY Sullivan coaches, as well as the members of the 2012 SUNY Sullivan Generals. Every attendee will receive both group and one-on-one instructional time with expert clinicians.
The one-day intensive will include instruction on baseball fundamentals, as well as drills designed to hone skills in specific areas of fielding and batting. Attendees will be assessed and given “homework” to continue their growth after the clinic, and help players build on the experience they need to improve their overall baseball performance.

Head Coach Ryan Snair
In just his third season as Head Baseball Coach at SUNY Sullivan, Snair has already leaded the team to a Region XV championship (2011). He is in his 10th year of coaching overall at the collegiate level, including seven years at SUNY Ulster. Coach Snair has been named the Region XV Coach of the Year in both 2004 and 2011, and the District F Coach of the Year in 2004.
Assistant Coach Jared Carrier
Also in his third season with SUNY Sullivan, Coach Carrier is also the General Manager of Pro Prospects Training Center in Monticello. Coach Carrier also has managed the Sullivan Spartans (Hudson Valley Collegiate Baseball League) for eight years, from which four players have gone on to sign professional contracts.
The 2012 Sullivan Generals
Collegiate players from the SUNY Sullivan Generals will also be leading the activities, including twelve returning players from the 2011 Championship team.
Clinic attendees will be divided into two age groups: 7-12 & 13-15. The clinic fee for each attendee is $50.00, and includes a lunch of hot dog, chips and bottled water. Gatorade and other items will be available for purchase at the SUNY Sullivan concession stand inside the fieldhouse.
The clinic is limited to 40 PLAYERS. Registration is open now.
