SUNY Sullivan Welcomes Children’s Production Honk! Junior to its 2011 Summer Performance Series in the Seelig Theatre

 

Loch Sheldrake, NY (July 14, 2011) – The Summer of Fun at SUNY Sullivan continues inside the Seelig Theatre – your destination for family-friendly performances right here in Sullivan County all season long!

Visit the campus of SUNY Sullivan on FRIDAY, JULY 22ND at 8:00 PM, for an evening of family fun with HONK JR. The whole family will love this re-imagining of Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless tale, The Ugly Duckling. The musical adaptation – performed by the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop – delivers a message of tolerance through wonderful songs, sets and inventive costumes.

Enter a world where animals sing and dance – the countryside where the duckling, named Ugly, lives. The children’s show HONK JR. will be on campus for another day on SATURDAY, JULY 23RD at 2:00 PM.

And the great performances continue all summer long. Celtic rockers FINN’S FURY will be on campus on THURSDAY, JULY 28 at 8:00 PM with their unique "Urban Celtic Fusion Rock.”

On THURSDAY, AUGUST 4 at 8:00 PM, come out and feel the rhythms of the STREET BEATS GROUP, and then marvel at the high-flying fun of THE ACROBATS OF CIRQUE-TACULAR on THURSDAY, AUGUST 11 at 7:00 PM. The season wraps up on THURSDAY, AUGUST 25 at 7:00 PM with an evening of RAG, BLUES & ALL THAT JAZZ performed by master pianist PETER MUIR.

All live stage performances are presented on the campus of SUNY Sullivan, in the state-of-the-art, air conditioned Seelig Theater. All performances EXCLUDING Honk Jr. are $20 for adults and $12 for children under 13. Tickets for Honk Jr. are $15 for adults and $7 for children under 13.
