Loch Sheldrake, NY (June, 19 2012) – SUNY Sullivan is once again bringing opera to the Catskills with its 2012 Met Opera in HD Summer Encore Series. Opera fans are invited weekly to enjoy excellent performances, including some of the Met Opera’s biggest and most recent hits.
As always, next week’s performance of Don Giovanni, will be presented in the beautiful Seelig Theater. Without a bad seat in the house, the Seelig Theater provides an ideal setting to enjoy some of the finest costumes, most fantastic sets, and, of course, some of the greatest voices in opera today.
Don Giovanni will be shown on June 27, 2012. The screening will begin at 6:30 pm, and the performance has a run time of 4 hours.
Mariusz Kwiecien is the world’s most famous lover in Michael Grandage's new production, led by Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi. The lineup of refined Mozartians also includes Marina Rebeka, Barbara Frittoli, Ramón Vargas, and Luca Pisaroni.
