SUNY SULLIVAN PRESENTS THE USO LIBERTY BELLS

AS PART OF ITS 2012 SUMMER PERFORMANCE SERIES

 

SUNY Sullivan has a long-standing reputation for staging excellent performing arts events in its Seelig Theater during the summer months. The 2012 season is no exception, with family-friendly performances planned throughout July and August.

On July 12, at 7:00 pm, the college welcomes the vocal group, The USO Liberty Bells!

Are you a fan of those fantastic, patriotic and jaunty tunes of the World War II era? Do you enjoy the hit songs and patriotic favorites of the great American songbook? Even if you love the rock, country, and top 40 hits of today, the USO Liberty Bells are sure to impress you.

SUNY Sullivan is pleased to welcome the only officially chartered USO show troupe of its kind. The USO Liberty Bells have traveled the world performing for service men and women, their families, veterans and audiences that actively support the troops here and abroad. Their tight harmonies, solo performances, dancing and array of costumes capture not just the sounds, but the sights of a by-gone era. They are part of an American tradition that began with shows in the South Pacific 71 years ago. The troupe is comprised of Broadway and off-Broadway professionals chosen each year from an exhaustive audition process in Manhattan.

The USO Liberty Bells make more than 200 appearances throughout the year at deployment and homecoming ceremonies, veteran's hospitals, aboard ships and at military installations. Don't miss your chance to catch this fantastic act as they take the stage of SUNY Sullivan's Seelig Theater on July 12, at 7:00 pm.

The Seelig Theater is SUNY Sullivan's state-of-the-art performance space, offering excellent audio and visual appointments. Tiered seating provides unobstructed sight lines for all patrons, and wheelchair accessible seating is available. Tickets for all performances in this year's Seelig Summer Fun Series are available by calling the SUNY Sullivan Box Office at 845-434-5750 ext. 4472. Ticket prices are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children age 13 and under.
